Lance Stroll Confirmed for Home Canadian Grand Prix Return After Injury

Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll is set to return to the cockpit for his home race, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, this weekend. The Canadian driver was forced to withdraw from the previous race, the Spanish Grand Prix, after experiencing significant pain in his right hand following qualifying. Stroll's withdrawal from the Spanish event was prompted by a worsening of discomfort in his hand, which led him to seek immediate medical treatment. The issue requiring attention was reportedly linked to a wrist injury sustained in a cycling accident two years ago. Following his withdrawal, Stroll underwent a successful medical procedure to address the recurring symptoms. To confirm his readiness to race, he completed a test session at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, driving an older specification Formula 1 car. Aston Martin confirmed Stroll's fitness and participation for the Montreal event. The team stated that he had undergone a successful procedure and completed laps in an older F1 car earlier in the week, reporting that Lance is feeling fit and healthy and looking forward to competing in front of his home crowd. Stroll himself expressed enthusiasm about getting back into the car for his home grand prix. He emphasized his strong desire to be fit for the Montreal fans and confirmed he was feeling well after the medical procedure and the preparation laps he undertook. His return ensures both Aston Martin cars will be on the grid for the highly anticipated event at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
